Obama Administration Releases Guidance On Medicaid Expansion.

The New York Times Share to FacebookShare to Twitter (10/2, Pear, Subscription Publication) reported that the Obama Administration has released its first “definitive guidance” regarding Medicaid expansion since the Supreme Court ruled on the Affordable Care Act in June. The director of the Center for Medicaid and State Operations, Cindy Mann, said in a letter, “A state may choose whether and when to expand, and if a state covers the expansion group, it may decide later to drop the coverage.” She added that, “there is no deadline,” but states “would pay a price for delay.” The Times notes that even with this guidance, “the Administration left major questions unanswered.”
